The Challenge
Based in Boggabri, New South Wales, grain cartage contractor Daniel Heiler approached Ellis & Sons Group with worn-out tarps and hardware on his A & B trailers, which were causing inefficiencies and potential risks during grain transport.
Seeking a comprehensive new tarp system that included pelmets and hardware, Daniel came to Ellis & Sons Group following a referral.
Ellis & Sons Group offered him an in-house drive-in and drive-out solution with custom-designed pelmets that waterproofed the tarps at each end, eliminating the need to manually untie flaps.
The Solution
Meeting with Daniel to understand his specific requirements while considering timeframes and budget constraints, Ellis & Sons Group was able to provide a complete turnkey solution.
The team custom-designed a Roll-Top tarp set, manufactured it to exact specifications, and installed it on both the A & B trailers.
This included steel pelmets, bin modifications to suit the new tarping system, a full hardware kit with new bows, and new rollover tarps.
Daniel delivered the trailers to our Cowra facility, where the overhaul was completed in just 2-3 weeks.
The Outcome
By completely upgrading both trailers with the new Tail-Wind Tarps custom systems, Daniel has extended the trailers' life by another 10 years with a significant improvement in keeping grain dry during transport.
The successful implementation of the new system offered a safer, easier, and more efficient loading and unloading process, enhancing overall operational efficiency for Daniel's grain cartage business.
