The Challenge
Looking to provide effective sun protection for the play area at Hennessy Oval, Nambucca Valley Council approached Ellis & Sons Group to install a system that would accommodate the site's proximity to water, preventing the use of standard footings.
Having previously partnered with Ellis & Sons Group on another project, Nambucca Valley Council engaged the team to deliver a shade solution that would meet their specific requirements and staying within their budget.
The Solution
Working closely with the Nambucca Valley Council, Ellis & Sons Group offered personalised consultations, taking into account the area's unique requirements, site constraints and the council's budget.
By providing a solution that included the custom design, manufacturing, and installation of Hypar Sails, Ellis & Sons Group’s shade solution addressed high water table issues by installing pad-style footings instead of standard footings.
The Hypar Sail shade solution offers 80%-90% block-out from the sun, ensuring that the majority of the playground is covered with effective shade structures.
The Outcome
Offering excellent shade coverage, the Hypar Sail system provides the playground with an aesthetically appealing solution that increases comfort and protection from the sun for children and families visiting the playground.
The colourful, inviting and well-designed shade structures have enhanced the overall look of the playground, making it a more enjoyable space for the community.
